Pagan in the Distance Website
The "Pagan Island in the Distance" website holds a collection of personal memoirs about Japanese-era life on Pagan Island in the Northern Mariana Islands. It presents translated excerpts of original content from Okamoto Mariko's website "Harukanaru Paganto yo . . .". The English translation of the original Japanese text was prepared by Jessica Jordan, a Ph.D candidate at the University of California, San Diego. Jordan was assisted by Horiguchi Noriyasu.
This project was funded in part by a Community Grant awarded by the Northern Marianas Humanities Council. Additional support was provided by Angil Design.
